Steve Abraham/Tommy Godwin…The Unbreakable Record

The Wattmeister asks how may calories will he burn? How many watts will its take? And will it be on Strava?

Steve Abraham will attempt to cycle more than 75,000 miles in 2015 in order to break Tommy Godwin’s record set in 1939. That’s an average of 206 miles a day for 365 consecutive days

An impossible task? Only time will tell, but it will equate to approximately 14 hours per day on the bike for every single day of 2015.

The Wattmeister has occasionally ridden with Steve. He is already a legend in audax circles having completed numerous long distance rides like Paris-Brest-Paris (1200kms) and London-Edinburgh-London (1400 kms) often on a fixed gear bike complete with full panniers.

This is the biggest challenge. As cyclists, we need to support him in this Quixotic folly.
