Apologies for plugging the forthcoming nationwide seminar tour entitled “Friern Barnet Lane Sprint…Choosing the Correct Gear”.
Advance ticket sales have been brisk, particularly in the Outer Hebrides, but there are still some places available for the outdoor event at Hyde Park Corner on June 13th which has been scheduled to coincide with the London component of the World Naked Bike Ride for which Muswell Hill Peloton star rider DingleDave is favourite to win the sprint finish.
With the imminent arrival of Spring, and inspired by the recent successes of Brits Ian Stannard and Mark Cavendish, several of the Peloton will be venturing to Belgium in order to ride the Tour of Flanders sportive. Led by Pistol Pete, who has a cobbled Shaker kitchen, the team will be training hard over the coming weeks in preparation for the big event.
Other news concerns the return from injury of formidable sprinter, Slayer, whose autobiography, “Eat Pies for Power” is due to hit the bookshelves soon. His previous biography “Beer for Brunch” was a sell out. Nutrition and hydration are important themes in cycling, and we thank him for his contribution.
The Lion King suffered a terrible fall at the London velodrome two weeks ago which dented the track and almost certainly cost Dame Sarah Storey the hour record. We wish him well in his recuperation, but warn him not to expect any favours on his return to the fold.
