Tour de France Diary, Stage 6.

Yesterday, Greg van Avermaet split the peloton just as The Wattmeister was changing from team issue pyjamas into team issue lycra bibshorts….poor etiquette Greg.

During today’s stage The Wattmeister fell asleep for a while and missed……nothing. He dreamed of the time in 1985 when he did the splits (unintentionally) and in doing so, split his own peloton.

Today, the racers meandered through exquisite French countryside for 189 kms before exploding into life at the flamme rouge as they entered the town of Montauban. It was a wild affair. Forget about lead-out trains, think jockeying for position and choosing the right, no, …the fastest wheel to follow.

There’s one guy in the bunch who is the master of that game.
